Ancient China was a civilization guided by harmony between Heaven, Earth, and humanity. Its medical tradition saw health as balance—of Qi (vital energy) and the forces of Yin and Yang. Herbal remedies, acupuncture, and practices like qigong all aimed to restore this harmony.

At the core was Taoism, the philosophy of living in accordance with the Tao—the natural Way. Taoism taught that wisdom and well-being arise when life flows with nature rather than against it. Together, Chinese medicine and Taoist thought shaped a worldview that valued balance, connection, and the rhythms of the natural world.
